Sweden Vs England: Raheem Sterling, Steven Caulker and Leon Osman to Win First National Team Caps

New faces given their chance to shine during international friendly.

Check-In to Sweden v England

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is set to make his England debut by playing from the start of Wednesday’s friendly against Sweden.

Sterling, at 17 years and 342 days, would become the fifth-youngest England player ever.

Tottenham’s Steven Caulker and Leon Osman of Everton are also set for their international debuts in Stockholm.

If there is any real purpose for friendlies, and that’s a big IF, then the blooding of those yet to represent their country is perhaps the only saving grace for a seemingly pointless international against Sweden.

Roy Hodgson will also hand Steven Gerrard his 100th cap and will look to a side mixed with youth and experience to take on Sweden in Stockholm tonight.

Tickets still available for top football matches – Newcastle United v Man City tickets
