Blues to move for Atletico superstar.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to step up his pursuit of Colombia sensation Radamel Falcao, reports the Daily Mail.
The Russian has finally realised that his £50 million investment in Fernando Torres has been a complete failure and will make funds available to boss Roberto Di Matteo to recruit a new striker in the upcoming January transfer window.
In a recent interview Falcao has said: “I would not be worried about the physical aspect of the Premier League. I have scored goals in Argentina, Portugal and now Spain. I am confident I can adapt my game to any league”.
The 26-year-old also admitted being a big fan of Blues’ legend Gianfranco Zola when he was growing up.
Falcao, whose contract includes a £48m release clause, is without a doubt the most wanted striker in Europe at the moment, with Manchester City and Real Madrid also rumoured to be interested in signing the former Porto forward.
Falcao’s current team, Atletico Madrid, are suffering from severe financial difficulties and will likely be forced to cash in on their prize asset, if not in January then the end of the season.
