Former Liverpool boss set to fill Stamford Bridge post.
Chelsea are clearly looking to bring in a swift replacement for Roberto Di Matteo and having sacked the Italian in the morning they will look to have Rafa Benitez in charge by the end of the day.
The West London side have a crucial Premier League fixture against Man City on the weekend and a hugely important clash against Nordsjælland early next month as the Blues hang on to hope of possible qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The former Liverpool boss didn’t last long at Inter Milan but his spells at Liverpool and Valencia would have to be considered big successes and therefore the Spaniard would appear to be a very sensible replacement for Di Matteo though some may well be hoping that former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola would fill the Stamford Bridge hot-seat.
