Man City & AC Milan Linked With Striker Swap Deal That Could Suit All Concerned

Etihad Stadium and San Siro side could make player exchange.

Alexandre Pato could quit AC Milan and be offered to Manchester City in a deal including Mario Balotelli.

The erratic Italian forward has not started a game for City since a draw with West Ham at the start of the month and Brazilian Pato has reportedly grown frustrated at his lack of first-team action at the San Siro.

Balotelli has long been linked with a return to Milan and Pato’s agent has admitted his client is considering his future – sparking rumours in Italy of a part-exchange deal.

Pato’s representative Gilmar Veloz told TuttoMercato: “We want to understand and properly evaluate the situation with Milan.
“I’ll talk to Alexandre and the club then we shall see what to do.

“Could Pato Leave Milan? I do not know, we’ll talk after Tuesday when everything will be clear.”

Well Tuesday came and went and Alexandre Pato had to be content with another cameo appearance from the bench, the Brazilian netting in a 3-1 win against Anderlecht, and this could well leave the AC Milan forward looking to leave the San Siro and a move to Man City may well tempt the 23 year old.

Mario Balotelli finds himself in a similar predicament, the Italian being some way down the Man City pecking order despite an excellent Euro 2012 showing.

The former Inter Milan man is reportedly a boyhood fan of AC and could be willing to return to Serie A to re-ignite a career that is perhaps stagnating at the Etihad Stadium.

However any interest Pato has in leaving AC Milan would be to secure regular first team football but the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko could stand in the way of just such a goal.

Roberto Mancini does appear to be hoping to land a player or two in January, having had a fairly, by their own standards, quiet summer transfer window.

If the Italian was to offer Alexandre Pato some assurances that he would have a decent shot at making his starting eleven then perhaps a move to Man City will tempt the former Internacional man into leaving AC Milan.
