Man City Make £9m Bid for ‘Croatian Messi’

Etihad Stadium continue to pursue Dinamo Zagreb teenager.

MANCHESTER CITY have stolen a march on rivals United by tabling a £9million bid for Croatian wonderkid Alen Halilovic.

According to reports, the Premier League champions have submitted an improved offer to Dinamo Zagreb for the highly sought-after 16-year-old.

It is thought that City’s initial £7m offer was rejected a few days ago.

Manchester City appear to have changed tack a little in terms of their transfer policy. Rather than spending vast sums on established talents the Premier League title holders are now looking to nab young talents by offering more than other prospective suitors.

Now £9m may be a big fee to spend on a 16 year old but by all accounts Alan Haliliovic is a player with a very bright future. Indeed he has been dubbed as the ‘Croatian Messi’ so that tells you all about the very high expectations on his very young shoulders.

The 16 year old midfielder is clearly a player who is well thought of but given that Halilovic has only just made his first senior club appearance it may be a little too early to be doling out the superlatives and unrealistic comparisons.

However all the talk of the teenagers ability must be more than just hot air if Man City are willing to fork out such a huge fee for the youngster.
