Liverpool Vs Southampton Preview: Team News, Predicted Line-Ups, Match Facts and More

Anfield side will be looking to pick up a much needed win at home to the Saints.

Robbie Williams presale tickets

Liverpool saw their eight match unbeaten Premier League run come to an end at White Hart Lane in midweek but Brendan Rodgers will have been pleased with the performance his side put in against Tottenham and will hope to see his attack take full advantage of Southampton’s leaky defence.

Nigel Adkins has seen his side go four games without defeat and will hope that the Saints can continue that run of form as they travel to Anfield having picked up their only away win of the season at QPR in their last fixture away from St Mary’s.

Southampton won three of their last four Premier League meetings with Liverpool before they were relegated in 2005.

Liverpool have lost one of their last seven home league meetings with Saints.

Liverpool have won just one of their last six Premier League matches (W1, D4, L1).

They are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games at Anfield (W2, D2).

Their tally of 16 points from 14 games equals their worst total at this stage of a Premier League campaign, made in 1992-93.

The Reds have benefited from three own goals this season, more than any other team in the Premier League.

Saints are unbeaten in four Premier League games (W2, D2).

They have the worst defence in the division, having conceded 31 goals.

However, Fulham are the only team in the bottom half of the Premier League to have scored more goals (25) than Saints (21).

Southampton have scored in 12 of their 14 league games this season, but conceded in 13.
