EXCLUSIVE: Man City on Sterling standby after winger falls out with Rodgers
Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the Raheem Sterling contract negotiations at Liverpool as his advisers become increasingly irritated with manager Brendan Rodgers.
They feel that Rodgers is trying to railroad the winger, who is 18 next Saturday, into signing a new deal following his comment that Sterling would be ‘very foolish’ not to agree fresh terms.

Have the pair really fallen out or is this just a little bit of stirring on behalf of the Daily Mail? An attempt to make this story a little more juicy than it really is?
Clearly Raheem Sterling hasn’t revealed his intentions as to when/if he will sign a new contract and talk of a possible move away from the Anfield club pretty much stems from that point onwards. The moment the England man puts pen to paper is the moment this story ceases to be a distraction.
Rodgers has shown great faith in the 17 year old, offering him a sustained run in the first team and Sterling has rewarded the Northern Irishman with a consistent level of form that has led to an England call-up.
Sterling did reveal on his Twitter account that he would sign a new Liverpool deal when he turned 18 but then, for whatever reason, deleted the tweet.
This merely led to more speculation about the starlet’s future and any move to allay such fears will be gratefully received by a Liverpool fanbase who have been mightily impressed by his early displays for the club.
Roberto Mancini saw a reduced level of spending during the summer transfer window and opted to bring in young British talents Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair but has rarely used them thus far.
