Anzhi Makhachkala Want Man City Defender Kolo Toure

Russian big spenders keen on Etihad Stadium centre-back.

Manchester CIty defender Kolo Toure is wanted by Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

Toure, 31, joins Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic and Spurs target Toby Alderweireld of Ajax on Anzhi’s wishlist.

But City boss Roberto Mancini does not appear to be in a rush to sell the centre back.

One would’ve thought that Roberto Mancini would be happy to sell Kolo Toure given the huge salary the former Arsenal defender currently claims for warming the bench but still the 31 year old remains at the Etihad Stadium.

Given that even Joleon Lescott has seen his first team opportunities limited this term, and the England man was a crucial part of the Premier League winning side last term, by the arrival of youngster Matija Nastasic it would appear that Kolo Toure is very much surplus to requirements.

The solid centre-back has struggled to find his way back into the Man City fold ever since his drugs ban and the Ivory Coast international has started just two Premier League matches thus far this season. Therefore a move to the Russian Premier League side could beckon, though Toure may have to reassess his wage demands if he wants to secure a move away from the Premier League side.
