Emirates Stadium boss defiant after defeat.
“We did absolutely everything for 120 minutes and you have to give credit to Bradford,” said Wenger.
“You feel embarrassed when you don’t give everything, I think they’ll be more disappointed and frustrated.” (BBC Sport)
A defeat against lower league opposition is always hard to swallow but Arsene Wenger should surely be embarrassed about the fact that his Premier League side could not overcome League Two Bradford City.
This was not a second string line-up that the Gunners boss sent to Valley Parade, he put out ten internationals in a starting line-up that was pretty much the strongest line-up at his disposal and the embarrassment must be that even with such a side they could not overcome the Bantams.
The embarrassment is perhaps more the fact that THIS was the strongest side available to Wenger. A side that has clearly seen a fair few key personnel sold, more often than not to direct rivals.
There is ever growing dissent among Gunners fans and Wenger may now be living on borrowed time and could well feel the pressure too much.
