Emirates Stadium side step-up interest in St Mary’s teenager.
Arsenal step up pursuit of £5m-rated Shaw with talks to be held TODAY
If Arsene Wenger has anything to do with it, Luke Shaw will be Arsenal’s next Saint.
Gunners officials will use New Year’s Day’s trip to St Mary’s to hold talks with Southampton in their attempts to land the 17-year-old left back.
Arsenal will make an offer for Shaw this month and it is hoped Tuesday’s discussions will pave the way for the club to end their two-year quest to land the latest jewel to emerge from Southampton’s ultra-productive academy.

Having brought in Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Southampton in recent seasons Arsene Wenger will hope to complete a hat-trick with the capture of highly rated teenage left-back Luke Shaw.
The 17 year old has been impressive for the South-Coast side since breaking into the first team set-up and may well jump at the chance to join the North London club.
Shaw has made nine Premier League starts this term and is a player who appears to have a bright future and could be seen as the man to battle Kieran Gibbs for the left-sided defensive slot with Brazilian Andre Santos seemingly on his way out after a woeful series of displays in recent months.
£5m may not be enough to persuade the Saints to sell Shaw given that Arsenal paid an initial fee of £12m to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain and that was 18 months ago.
This source states that Arsenal had a summer move for Shaw turned down and Chelsea are said to also be keen on the starlet full-back.
