This group of fine talents could be available ‘on the cheap’ or even picked up for free next summer!
List does not include players who are likely to retire at the end of the season.
10. Andrei Arshavin (Arsenal)
Russian has never really lived up to his billing at Arsenal but could certainly still make an impact elsewhere in the Premier League.
Reading are said to be interested and the 31 year old winger could be just the man to push Brian McDermott’s side the right side of the relegation zone.
9. Danny Simpson (Newcastle United)
Very useful full-back, experienced and capable. Newcastle United are closing in on Mathieu Debuchy and are therefore unlikely to offer Simpson the new deal he is looking to seal.
The former Man United man may look to run out his deal and reap the salary benefits of being a free transfer signing but a good offer in January could tempt the Magpies into a sale.
8. Carlton Cole (West Ham)
Sam Allardyce has not offered the former Chelsea man a new deal and clearly felt the need to bring in reinforcements in the form of loaned in forward Andy Carroll, therefore a move in January is possible.
If not the England international could well fit the bill for a side in the bottom half of the top tier.
7. Kolo Toure (Man City)
Though the Ivory Coast man has seen little playing time over the past 18 months the former Arsenal man is a very dependable centre-back who could be a priceless signing for a side willing to offer the defender regular first team football.
Toure is away at the African Nations Cup in January and February so could be more likely to leave in the summer.
6. Zoltan Gera (West Brom)
Crafty attacking midfielder has been in fine form for Steve Clarke’s side this term and it’s somewhat surprising that the Hungarian hasn’t been offered a new deal.
Always on hand to score crucial goals and certainly weighs in with a decent number of assists to boot. Could be a very clever bit of business.
