Sunderland are worryingly light on striking options and if it were not for the consistent displays of summer signing Steven Fletcher then Martin O’Neill’s side would be lucky to score at all. Therefore moves to supplement the Black Cats attack with an experienced pro like Hoarau would be wise to consider.
Guillaume Hoarau is into his fifth season at the Parc des Princes and has seen his first team chances greatly limited by the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the 28 year old has made just one Ligue 1 start thus far this season and may well be open to an exit from the big spending Ligue 1 leaders.
Sunderland have managed just 21 goals in 21 Premier League matches and Scottish international Fletcher has netted eight of those.
Adam Johnson has also pitched in with some crucial support but the addition of a Hoarau would perhaps be a cost effective signing that could help keep the Black Cats clear of the drop zone.
