Red Devils lead the race for Crystal Palace youngster
Manchester United have become the forerunners to sign Wilfred Zaha, according to ESPN.
The tricky winger has caught the eye of a host of top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham monitoring the Crystal Palace man. It is understood that United have taken pole position in the race for his signature due to their willingness to let Zaha stay at Selhurst Park for the duration of the season. This claim has been cemented by comments made by the Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish to TalkSport;
“Right now, we’re concentrating on trying to get out of this league and the best way of doing that is adding to what we’ve got, not losing players,” he said. “I think he will be a Palace player until the summer and then we will look at it. Obviously, we will look at anything that anybody offers us because we would be mad not to.
“If we feel we can move the club forward from doing certain things, then we will. So, never say never. But, right now, we are focused on trying to keep everyone in the squad.”
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have been linked to another high profile midfielder, Wesley Sneijder. It is understood that Inter Milan representatives have made contact with United, among other clubs, but no movement has been made with regards to any discussions.
