Villa Park side to launch big money offer for Liberty Stadium striker.
Aston Villa are set to make a move for Swansea striker Danny Graham.
Villa were linked with Robbie Keane, but the Republic of Ireland international has now agreed a new contract at LA Galaxy, and have instead turned their attention to Graham.
The 27-year-old, who has also been linked with Reading and Sunderland, has often found himself on the bench at the Liberty Stadium this season, following the summer arrival of Michu and, although the Welsh club are keen to hang on to him, a big money bid could tempt them.
And talkSPORT understands Lambert could be ready to spend almost all his available funds and make a £12million swoop for Graham.
Aston Villa have certainly struggled for goals this term and Danny Graham may well be considering his future having been forced out of the Swansea City’s first team over the past couple of months but would Paul Lambert really make a bid of this size for the former Watford man?
One would imagine that if the Villa Park side really did make a £12m offer for the 27 year old then Michael Laudrup might gladly take the money and opt to use the funds to strengthen his squad.
Swansea City striker Danny Graham has been a less integral part of the Liberty Stadium attack following the success of new signing Michu but the 27 year old has impressed in recent weeks and may well be a player Michael Laudrup will look to use more frequently to prevent the former Watford man considering an exit from the South Wales side, however for an offer of this size all bets might be off.
Graham finished as Swansea City’s top scorer last term, netting 14 goals in all competitions but has started less than half of the club’s Premier League fixtures this season though he has scored in his last two appearances.
Aston Villa have scored just 17 goals in 21 Premier League matches this season, indeed the club’s top scorer, Christian Benteke has managed just six in 18 matches.
