Rayo Vallecano target Old Trafford youngster.
According to Italian source TuttoMercato La Liga side Rayo Vallecano are taking a keen interest in Man United striker Federico Macheda.
The Old Trafford forward has struggled to make headway in Sir Alex Ferguson’s first team set-up and may well benefit from another loan spell in order to get some senior football under his belt.
The Italian burst onto the scene with a glorious winner against Aston Villa minutes into his Premier League debut but that was some three and a half years ago and things have seemingly gone backwards for the young striker. Temporary spells at QPR and Sampdoria have failed to kick-start the Rome born forward’s career.
Macheda’s last taste of English top tier football came almost a year ago and his last Premier League start was all the way back in November 2010.
Last term Rayo Vallecano had Michu to thank for keeping them in La Liga but have fared far better this season with Paco Jémez’s side sitting in seventh place in Spain’s top tier.
