Brazilian striker unlikely to make the switch to White Hart Lane
Tottenham transfer target Leandro Damiao is unlikely to move to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window after admitting his club Internacional have yet to receive an offer.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas was expected to make a move for the Brazilian international forward after being left with just Jermaine Defoe available following Emmanuel Adebayor’s decision to play for Toga in the African Nations Cup.
But the 23-year-old Damiao has all but ruled out making a move to London this month with Internacional or the player’s representatives yet to have any contact with Tottenham officials. And he reiterated his intention to stay with the Brazilian side for the time being.
“My agent told me that there is no offer, everyone around me knows that I want to stay,” Damiao told Zero Hora in Brazil “But I can’t say that I’ll stay forever, maybe there will be an offer in the long term and (my future) depends on the president too.”
Tottenham have already been busy in the transfer window with the capture of defender Zeki Fryers from Standard Liege and the signing of Lewis Holtby from Schalke, although the latter may not join until the end of the season.
