Stamford Bridge forward has a number of admirers, time to consider selling the Spaniard?
The Daily Mail report that Atletico Madrid and Juventus are among a host of sides watching Fernando Torres intently, with speculation beginning to build that suggests that Chelsea could be ready to offload the misfiring Spaniard.
The 28 year old has struggled to justify the £50m outlaid for his services and after a positive run of form following Rafa Benitez’s arrival at Stamford Bridge the former Liverpool man has gone five games without a goal.
A move back to the Vicente Calderon may appeal to Torres, who began his career at Atletico Madrid before he left the club for Liverpool in the summer of 2007, having scored 91 goals in 243 appearances for the La Liga side.
Juventus have been virtually unbeatable in Serie A action over the past 18 months but arguably could do with a strong striking influence leading their attack, whether that slot could be effectively filled by Fernando Torres is of course an entirely different question to answer.
Atletico may be more likely to consider a move to re-sign Torres if they were to lose goal machine Radamel Falcao, who has helped propel Diego Simeone’s side up the table, splitting Barcelona and Real Madrid, sitting in second spot in the table.
