St James’ Park winger issues ‘come and get me’ plea to Ligue 1 side.
Alan Pardew is not having a good month. First Demba Ba heads off to Chelsea leaving him without his top-scorer, then Fabricio Coloccini requests to leave the club so that he can move back to his native Argentina, a move that would leave the Magpies boss without his club captain. Now winger Hatem Ben Arfa has basically issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Ligue 1 big spenders Ligue 1 according to Le Parisien.
In an interview conducted with the French source the former Marseille winger states that it would be a childhood dream to play for the Parc des Princes side, a claim that will not endear him to his former Stade Velodrome fans.
Ben Arfa grew up in the French suburbs and appears keen to return, as if to hammer the point home he then states that playing alongside Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be an honour.
This may not go down well with Pardew who has seen his St James’ Park side exhibit some horrific form of late with Newcastle United sitting just two points above the relegation zone after a run of just two wins in 17 games across all competitions.
