Former Barcelona boss Guardiola, who was a target for both Chelsea and Manchester City, was confirmed as Bayern’s next manager earlier this week and will officially take over at the Bundesliga giants in the summer.
And, the Sunday People claim, that Guardiola wants to sign Liverpool’s leading scorer Suarez and is preparing to test the waters with a £40million bid for the Uruguayan, who continued his goalscoring exploits in the 5-0 Premier League win over Norwich on Saturday.
Suarez, who has been Liverpool’s only forward this season prior to the arrival of Daniel Sturridge in the transfer window, signed a new deal in the summer, but the report suggests that Guardiola is aware of a release clause in his new deal.
The striker has had a controversial time at Anfield after being the centre of cheating and racial incidents, but remains one of the star attractions of the Premier League.
Guardiola has also earmarked Chelsea’s playmaking midfielder Juan Mata as a potential target when he does take over at the Allianz Area.
