Rennes youngster makes move to Russian Premier League.
French international midfielder Yann M’Vila on Wednesday agreed a deal to leave Rennes and join Russian Premiership side Rubin Kazan, the Ligue 1 side said on their website.
“Rennes, Rubin Kazan and Yann M’Vila have reached an agreement for the transfer of the French international,” the club said.
“After passing the traditional medical, the midfielder will officially join on Wednesday night.”
The highly-rated 22-year-old, who is understood to have cost Rubin around 11.5 million euros, had been linked with a switch to the English Premier League with Fulham and Queen’s Park Rangers both reported to have tabled offers.
M’Vila had arguably outgrown Ligue 1 side Rennes and has long been linked with a move away from the club though a move to the Premier League had looked very likely before the Russian big spenders made their interest known.
