Arsenal Line-Up Double Bundesliga Raid as Wenger Looks to Strengthen Weak Areas of His Gunners Squad

Arsene Wenger has also earmarked a move for 25 year old Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo, who has been something of a bit part player at the Allianz Arena side and appears surplus to requirements at the Bavarian club. Jupp Heyneckes may well be ready to listen to offers for the former Hoffenheim enforcer.

Arsenal could well do with adding some steel to their midfield to complement and protect the abundance of creative talent and the Brazilian tough tackler may well be the right man for the job.

Wenger is hopeful he can land the experienced defensive midfielder for a fee of around £10m and efforts to do so could well be hastened by Abou Diaby’s repeated injury concerns, the French midfielder only recently returning from another period on the sidelines.

Gustavo has spent two years trying to secure a regular spot in the Bayern Munich first team set-up following a successful four year spell at Hoffenheim.

The powerful midfielder has started less than half of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga matches thus far this season, his chances further limited by the arrival of Spaniard Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao.
