Dutch Midfielder signs on at Goodison Park.
Everton have completed their first signing of the January transfer window capturing Durch midfielder Leroy Fer from FC Twente.
The Dutch international midfielder is due on Merseyside for talks over personal terms and to undergo a medical over the next 24 hours before completing his move from the Eredivisie.
Fer, who will link up with his international team-mate Johnny Heitinga at Everton, is known as the “bouncer” due to his physicality and could become a long-term replacement for Marouane Fellaini, who looks destined to leave the club with several Premier League ready to activate his £22million release clause.
Fer has been with Steve McClaren’s FC Twente since 2011 and caught the eye of Everton’s scouts scoring 10 goals in 29 games for the club. He had previously played for Feyenoord where he started his career.
