Stamford Bridge veteran Russia bound?
Russian Premier League side Anzhi, who just spent £30m to sign Chelsea target Willian, are now ready to pay Chelsea £1m to take surplus to requirements winger Florent Malouda of the West London side’s hands according to CalcioMercato.
The 32 year old has been consigned to Chelsea’s reserves and hasn’t played a single minute of senior football this season and the Blues may well be ready to accept any offer that sees the French veteran’s big wage packet wiped off the balance sheet.
Malouda has given Chelsea near on six years of solid service, making 230 appearances and scoring 45 goals for the club he joined in the summer of 2007. Now it seems he is no longer wanted and a move to Anzhi, who have the money to more than match his current salary, could well tempt the former Lyon man.
Florent Malouda’s last appearance for Chelsea came in the 2012 Champions League final, where he came on as a sub during the club’s win over Bayern Munich.
