Norwich City Complete Signing Of Striker Kei Kamara

Striker is granted permission to make Carrow Road move.

Norwich City have completed the signing of striker Kei Kamara from MLS side Sporting Kansas City after he granted a visa.

The 28-year-old Sierre Leone international forward agreed to move to the Premier League at the end of the transfer window, and he could now make his debut when Norwich City host Fulham at the weekend after the relevant immigration paperwork was signed.

A statement on Norwich City’s official website said: “City are pleased to confirm forward Kei Kamara has been granted a visa to come and play for Norwich City on loan from Sporting Kansas City until May 6.”

Norwich moved to sign Kamara, who has spent his entire career in the MLS, after failing with bids for Celtic striker Gary Hooper and missing out on Swansea City striker when he chose to join Sunderland instead.

Manager Chris Hughton was also linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon’s Dutch international forward Ricky Van Wolfswinkel but he was priced out of the market due to the £12million asking price.

Instead he brought in Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio in a swap deal involving Steve Morison and the Argentine is set to form a partnership with Kamara over the remaining 13 games of the season.
