5. Alessandro Rosina (SIENA vs Lazio)

Tuscan minnows Siena are the closest thing the Serie A has to Wigan Athletic. Every season Siena seem to become embroiled in a relegation battle but pull themselves clear with a series of fine displays late on.

This year is no different. After a four point deduction and some rank form left them rooted to the foot of the table at the turn of the year, Siena are again putting some results together and this stunning 3-0 win over Champions League chasing Lazio was their third on the trot.

Alessandro Rosina’s deft finish after some lovely build-up play down the left flank was the pick of the goals.

4. Stevan Jovetic (FIORENTINA vs Inter Milan)

Stevan Jovetic was allegedly the subject of a rejected deadline day bid from Arsenal – and it’s not difficult the see why.

The 23-year-old Montenegrin scored his tenth and eleventh league goals of the season in Fiorentina’s fine 4-1 win over Inter Milan, with this curling beauty the pick of the four.

If the Viola fail to secure European football for next season, they may well struggle to hold onto the versatile forward.

3. Antonio Cassano (Fiorentina vs INTER MILAN)

Antonio Cassano’s long range goal for Inter Milan against Fiorentina in the Serie A

With all the hype around AC Milan’s unpredictable striker pairing of Mario Balotelli and Stephen El Shaarawy, it’s easy to forget that Italy possess another, equally maverick, world-class forward in Antonio Cassano.

With Diego Milito ruled out for the season, 30-year-old Cassano will have to up his game if Inter want to secure Champions League football for next season.

And he didn’t disappoint against Fiorentina, scoring this stunning long-range effort. Unfortunately the Nerazzurri were already 4-0 down at the time – hence the muted celebration.

2. Mario Balotelli (AC Milan vs Parma)

Whatever you think about Mario Balotelli, there’s no denying he’s a fabulous footballer. The maverick striker made it four goals in three matches for AC Milan since his £24m January move from Man City – form that has prompted Rossoneri head-coach Massimo Allegri to refuse to rule out a late push for the Serie A title.

This curling free-kick against Parma was perhaps his the best yet for the San Siro outfit.

How Man City could do with similar inspiration at present!

1. Francesco Totti (ROMA vs Juventus)

The Paul Scholes of the Serie A left former international teammate Gianluigi Buffon with no chance during Roma’s 1-0 win over Serie A leaders Juventus in the Stadio Olimpico.

Totti, 36, latched onto a loose ball after Daniel Pjanic’s weak free-kick and slammed an unstoppable screamer into the top corner.

He’s still got it.
