Man City have reportedly already agreed a deal with Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini to take over from Roberto Mancini at the Etihad Stadium this summer according to the Daily Express.

The former Real Madrid manager has also been linked with a move to take over at Chelsea but has been earmarked to take over from Mancini who is likely to see his side’s Premier League title wrestled from his grasp by local rivals Man United.

The 59 year old Chilean helped Malaga to secure a Champions League berth last term and has guided the La Rosaleda side to the last 16 of the competition whilst sitting comfortable in the top four in La Liga.

Pellegrini spent just one season at the Bernabeu despite his side accruing a club record total of 96 points, which was not enough to overhaul Barcelona and thus cost the former Universidad Chile centre-back his job.

He is perhaps all the more likely to quit Malaga after the La Liga side were banned from European competition for next term.
