Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will not change his side’s tactics ahead of Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham, according to The Guardian.

It has been rumoured that Wenger was attempting to concoct a plan in order to nullify the threat of in-form Gareth Bale.

The Welsh winger has been in scintillating form for Tottenham in recent games, scoring a number of goals that could prove to be vital come the end of the season.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal are vying for an invaluable Champions League spot. The game is perhaps more pressing for Arsenal, who know that a loss on Sunday would probably put an end to their hopes for Champions League football next season.

That would increase the pressure on Wenger, who has seen his side fail to live up to expectations on all fronts this season.

Whilst Wenger still has the backing of the board, it is rumoured that the increasing number of disgruntled fans at the Emirates could persuade the French manager to give someone a chance at restoring the Gunners to their former glory.

‘It is an interesting game because there is something at stake. We are confident and we are on a good run in the Premier League. If you look at our record, it is very good in recent games, so we will just focus on our strengths, that is it’, Wenger said ahead of the game.
