Best XI: Premier League Team of the Season So Far

The best of the best from the top tier in 2012/13.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet (Sunderland)

No Premier League keeper has faced more shots but still the Black Cats keeper has managed nine clean sheets, only two keepers have collected more.

Left-Back: Leighton Baines (Everton)

Set piece specialist has been as consistent as ever.

Centre-Back: Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)

Gets the nod at centre-back but has been equally commanding on the left hand side of the Tottenham defence.

Centre-Back: Jonny Evans (Man United)

Certainly has his detractors but his record this season has been truly excellent. In 17 Man United Premier League starts his side have won 15 matches and just just once and kept seven clean sheets to boot.

Right-Back: Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)

Man City’s most consistent player this season, edges out Rafael at right-back.

Attacking Midfielder: Juan Mata (Chelsea)

For all Chelsea’s woes no one has provided more Premier League assists than the Spaniard, who has also scored ten goals himself.

Central-Midfield: Michael Carrick (Man United)

Has been the pendulum at the heart of Man United’s midfield this season, has barely put a foot wrong.

Central-Midfield: Marouane Fellaini (Everton)

11 goals, four assists and also offers a great deal of work in the centre of the park, could be tough to keep hold of this summer.

Left Attack: Gareth Bale (Tottenham)

Scoring goals for fun, now has 16 to his name and many of them absolute corkers.

Striker: Robin Van Persie (Man United)

Was always likely to be a success at Man United and so it has proven, fairly often coming up with crucial goals, Arsene Wenger will be ruing the day he sold the Dutchman.

Right Attack: Luis Suarez (Liverpool)

Premier League top-scorer and a player that defences simply can not handle.
