Chilean international being chased by a growing number of clubs.
Italian club Napoli are keen to sign Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez according to talkSport.
The Chilean winger has suffered a tumultuous season this year at the Nou Camp, managing a paltry nine league starts and a return of just a solitary goal.
Barcelona fended off significant competition to seal the player’s signature from Udinese in 2011 but the player has failed to establish himself and looks certain to leave the club come the summer.
The player still carries a high reputation in Italy and it is being suggested that Napoli have joined the likes of Juventus in the hunt for the player’s signature.
That will be bad news for Liverpool who are also rumoured be interested in securing the player’s services.
One potential stumbling-block may be the player’s transfer fee. Barcelona consider the player to have failed because of the quality of their players and not because they overpaid for his signature.
That means they are likely to demand a fee close to the £23 million they paid Udinese which may put off potential suitors.
Liverpool recently reported increasing levels of debt and are keen to avoid a bidding war. Their position may strengthen however should mercurial striker Luis Suarez make a mega-bucks departure from the club.
