Emirates Stadium side keen to strengthen attack.
Arsenal are readying a summer bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke as Arsene Wenger looks at strengthening his Gunners attack. The North London side will make an offer for the Belgian international regardless of whether Paul Lambert’s side manages to avoid relegation to the Championship, though the chances of a successful bid will be significantly increased should the Villa Park side fail to do so.

Wenger is willing to use up to £14m of his summer transfer war-chest to lure Benteke away from Aston Villa, this would represent a double your money offer for the club’s American owner Randy Lerner and that may prove too good an offer to refuse as he looks to balance the books at the Midlands club.
Powerful striker Benteke has had an excellent first season in the English top tier and is perhaps Aston Villa’s solitary bright spot of an otherwise poor season.
The former Racing Genk man has scored 13 Premier League goals in 25 starts and a total of 17 in all competitions since his £7m summer move to Aston Villa.
Wenger is hoping to add to his attack and sees Benteke as a player who can offer him an alternative to Olivier Giroud and will hope that a move to the capital will entice the Belgian.
The 22 year old Zaire born forward has been impressive on national team duty of late, scoring four goals in his last five appearances for Marc Wilmots’s side who are top of their World Cup qualifying table.
