Carrow Road side clinch deal to sign Sporting Lisbon forward.
Norwich City have confirmed via their official website the signing of Dutch international striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.
The Sporting Lisbon man will cost the Canaries around £8.5m and the 24 year old will sign a four year deal on July 1st and will represent a real statement of intent from the Carrow Road side.
Chris Hughton’s side have struggled for goals this term, as evidenced by the fact that their top Premier League goalscorer Gary Holt has just five goals to his name.
Hughton is happy to have completed a deal to sign the Utrecht born finisher, stating’
“Ricky’s profile is a perfect fit for us – he’s young, ambitious and a proven goalscorer,”
“He has an excellent goalscoring pedigree and he’s a young man very keen to continue his personal progression and to play in England.”
“He’s already an exciting talent but he still has more development as a player ahead of him.
Van Wolfswinkel has proved a big success since his move to Portugal 18 months ago, scoring 25 goals in his first season and another dozen in all competitions this term.
