Arsenal are eager to strike up a deal to bring Aston Villa starlet Danny Crowley, The Mirror reports.

The 15-year-old has been dubbed as ‘the new Jack Wilshere’ and has been causing quite a buzz in the Midlands.

Manchester City are also said to be interested but it is Arsenal who are coveting the young midfielder with greater intent and their track record with youth prospects would suggest that they would be the better option.

However, Villa have a strong academy of their own and are one of the UK’s best in terms of success rate. Over the recent seasons they have produced the likes of Craig and Gary Gardner, Andreas Weimann, Marc Albrighton, Cairan Clark and Nathan Baker – all of whom are tipped for big futures in the game.

Still only 15, Crowley is still a long way off any first team action, but as an England under-16 international he has caught the eye’s of a number of clubs with a string of fine performances. He made his debut for the national schoolboy team back in 2011 against Northern Ireland and went on to collect six caps before graduating to the under-17s.

If either Arsenal or Manchester City wanted to snap him up then Villa would be entitled to a small fee, but it would surely be more beneficial for them to keep hold of a future star.
