Tottenham Keep Watchful Eye On Wales Star Gareth Bale Amid Fitness Concerns

Spurs keen to see Welsh winger come through game with Croatia unscathed.

Tottenham are set for an anxious night as they monitor the fitness of Gareth Bale according to ESPN.

Wales are set to face Croatia tonight in their World Cup qualification tie with both sides keen to secure the three points.

Bale was withdrawn at half-time during Wales’ 2-1 victory over Scotland on Friday as he has been suffering from a virus. There were also concerns that a challenge from Scotland’s Grant Hanley had aggravated an slight ankle injury that had made Bale doubtful to appear in the game at all.

Wales manager Chris Coleman insisted Bale had recovered over the weekend and was set to start against Croatia.

Tottenham are desperate to see Bale survive tonight’s game without injury as they hope to have the player available for the last few months of the Premier League season.

Bale has been an integral part of Andre Villas-Boas’ side who currently sit in fourth place in the table.

But a recent spell of bad results as threatened Tottenham’s chances of Champions League qualification.

The gap between them and city rivals Arsenal has been reduced to four points but the Gunners can diminish that further by winning their game in hand.

Spurs are determined to turn around their recent poor form but know that task will be made much harder should Bale have to endure a spell on the sidelines.
