Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini Sets Sights On Next Season’s Premier League Title

Italian boss upbeat after derby victory for City at Old Trafford.

Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini believes his side have every chance of winning the Premier League title next season according to BBC Sport.

The Italian manager conceded that there was little hope for his team this year but believed his side would be among the challengers during the next campaign.

City trail their rivals Manchester United by twelve points at the top of the Premier League title but will have something to smile about today after their 2-1 victory over United at Old Trafford.

Mancini acknowledged that the club had made some mistakes this season and that had unfortunately cost them their chance of winning back to back titles.

But Mancini stated his belief that the manner of the club’s victory at Old Trafford showed that they did not deserve to be so far behind their rivals in the Premier League.

The Italian boss did however concede that United to deserved to win the title because of their greater consistency this season.

The last time United had lost a game before the derby match was all the way back in November when the team suffered a shock loss to Norwich City.

Mancini said the side would regroup over the summer and mount an improved bid next season.
