Five Reasons Why Arsenal WILL Finish in the Premier League Top Four

4. Collapsing competition

On 10th March, Arsenal were outplayed by bitter rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane and fell seven points behind their neighbours after a 2-1 defeat.

But, predictably, Spurs have crumbled since, losing against Liverpool and Fulham and drawing with Everton, meaning the Gunners can move four points clear of Spurs with a victory over the Toffees on Tuesday. Just like last season, Spurs look weary and lacking in firepower, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe – the only two recognised strikers at White Hart Lane – desperately off-form. Gareth Bale, meanwhile, remains injured, with no definite return date. Spurs are there for the taking for the second consecutive season.

Chelsea, meanwhile, remain patchy in the league and will now have one eye on the Europa League, after reaching the semi-final following a hard-fought victory over Rubin Kazan. Blues interim boss Rafa Benitez knows he will not be in charge at Stamford Bridge next term, so the Spaniard’s focus will surely be on silverware, rather than securing Champions League football with a place in the top four.

Everton, like the Gunners, are on fine form and are a very tough nut to crack. But David Moyes has not won at Arsenal in his 11 years in charge at Goodison Park and a home win on Tuesday would see Arsenal seven points clear of the Merseysiders who must still travel to Liverpool, Chelsea and Sunderland.
