Gunners told to cough up if they want to bring prized goalkeeper to Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have been told that goalkeeping target, Rui Patricio will cost them somewhere in the region of £13 million, according to The Express.
Arsene Wenger has made a new goalkeeper one of his top priorities this summer after being less than impressed with Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski who have both looked unsteady and unconfident as the season has progressed.
The club have looked into a number of options and have shortlisted several names such as Saint Etienne’s Stephane Ruffier, Hamburg’s Rene Adler and Swansea’s Michel Vorm.
However, it is believed that the man he want’s is Sporting goalkeeper, Rui Patricio, though he won’t come cheap.
The 25-year-old has been at Sporting for his entire career, making 242 appearances since first breaking into the team in 2006. Along the way he has become an established international with Portugal, winning the first of his 22 caps in 2010.
And the Lisbon giants have warned Arsenal that if they want him, they will have to pay £13 million as the club continue to battle hefty financial difficulties.
Sporting’s financial woes has already seem them agree to sell striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel to Norwich for £8 million and could see former Sevilla winger, Diego Capel, leave for England too.
