Stamford Bridge side see increased offer accepted by Bundesliga side.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £20m deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle according to talkSPORT.
Having failed with a £14m bid last summer it appears that the Stamford Bridge side have had an improved bid accepted by Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, with representatives of the club traveling to London to complete the deal.
Bayer’s CEO, Wolfgang Holzhauser, and sporting director, Rudi Voller are currently in the capital to finalise an agreement that could also include Belgian youngster Kevin de Bruyne, who is currently enjoying a season long loan spell at Werder Bremen.
21 year old German international Schurrle has had an excellent season with his BayArena side, who currently sit in third spot in the domestic table and set to secure a Champions League berth for next term.
Schurrle is an adaptable forward who has netted 14 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions this term and may be seen by Chelsea as an ideal addition to help boost the Stamford Bridge side’s attack.
Such a move could spell the end of Fernando Torres’s misfiring spell at the West London club, with the £50m man being in the middle of yet another goal drought, failing to score in his last 15 Premier League appearances though having less of an issue when competing in cup competitions.
