The Best Man United XI of the Sir Alex Ferguson Reign

Ryan Giggs

There was no way the Welsh wing wizard wasn’t going to make this eleven. Perhaps the best player of the Premier League era, an inspiring performer who hasn’t taken his foot off the pedal in an amazing 23 seasons in the Old Trafford first team.

Paul Scholes

Less of an attacking threat than in his pomp the intelligent midfielder was brought out of retirement to help get Man United’s Premier League title back. May have struggled with his tackling over the years but there is no doubting the importance of the box to box performer over the years.

Roy Keane

Tough tackling Irishman takes pride of place in the centre of our XI’s midfield. Well renowned for his uncompromising combative fighting spirit but also had the ability to score quality crucial goals when needed. A real leader.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Sir Alex Ferguson would not want to have seen the Portuguese attacker leave in 2009 but did at least receive a world record £80m when he did depart. The goal-scoring wide-man made a real impact in his six seasons at the club and we have him in a floating role out on the right in our XI.
