Old Trafford side closing in on Britannia Stadium custodian.
Man United are reportedly set to sign Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic according to the Daily Star.
Such a move has apparently led to current number two to David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard looking to the Old Trafford side this summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with interest in Bosnian international Begovic, who has been in fine form this term, keeping 12 clean sheets despite his Potters side spending much of the season around the relegation zone.
Lindegaard has initially challenged Spaniard De Gea for the starting spot but has seen the youngster come into his own in recent months, leaving the 29 year old left warming the bench.
The Danish international’s last started a Premier League match in early December and wants out with the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool said to be interested.
Begovic is tied down to a long term contract at the Britannia Stadium but it’s likely Stoke City would consider offers for the former Portsmouth man as Tony Pulis brought in England international Jack Butland in January.
