Five Former Players Arsene Wenger Should Consider Bringing Back To Arsenal

Five players that could return to the Emirates Stadium.

5. Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)

The young Mexican never really lived up to his potential at Arsenal, but since getting more of a chance for regular football he has really caught the eye at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad. He supposedly has a buy-back clause in his contract which could mean the Gunners could get him for cheap if they wanted.

4. Jeremie Aliadiere (Lorient)

Plagued by injuries throughout his career, the former Arsenal man is finally getting a break and finding his best form in Ligue 1 with Lorient. He has been linked with a surprise return to the Gunners as well as Newcastle, but could be a good option for Arsene Wenger, who needs more upfront next season.

3. Alex Song (Barcelona)

After just one year at the Nou Camp, Alex Song looks like leaving Barcelona and could make a quick return to North London with Arsenal. The midfielder had his best year with the Gunners in 2011/12 and they haven’t so far managed to find a replacement in the defensive midfield role, so who better than the man himself?

2. Samir Nasri (Manchester City)

The French winger is hugely unpopular with Gunners fans now after leaving for Man City, but there’s no doubt he found his best form during his time at the Emirates Stadium. Unwanted by City, he is surely set to leave this summer and maybe Arsenal would be wise to take a punt on their former player again?

1. Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona)

The best possible signing for Arsenal would be former captain Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish midfield maestro was a star player for the Gunners before making an emotional return to boyhood club Barcelona. However, things have not quite worked out for the 26-year-old since his move and he may be tired of being in and out of the team. He has declined to comment on Arsenal’s interest, but it wouldn’t be surpising if Arsene Wenger looked to activate the player’s buy-back clause and lure Fabregas away from Barca for a second time.
