Sanchez doesn’t want to leave Camp Nou.
Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez has thrown fresh doubts over his future by claiming that he doesn’t want to leave the club this summer despite being linked with a big money move away, according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old had been linked with several clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus after failing to impress in Catalonia since his €26 million switch from Udinese in 2011.
Sanchez has made 84 appearances during his time in Spain, scoring 24 goals, but he still hasn’t quite lived up to the club’s expectations and he has been identified as one of the players they are willing to let go in order to make room for new acquisitions over the coming months.
However, the 55 cap Chilean international has stated his desire to stay put and continue fighting for his place.
“I am working every day to help the team,” he said. “I am very happy here. I have a contract until 2016 and I want to stay.”
“The squad is so good here, but everyone has been very welcoming.”
This comes just days after former Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff pleaded with him to ignore the speculation and stay put next term.
