Radamel Falcao Move To Monaco Dismissed By Atletico Madrid President

Atletico Madrid deny claims that Falcao will join Monaco.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has denied that a deal has been agreed for star striker Falcao to join big-spending Monaco, according to Sky Sports.

The Colombian striker has been linked with a whole host of top clubs after a great season in Madrid, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea said to queuing up to sign the former Porto hit man.

The latest club to be linked with him were Ligue 2 side Monaco, who are backed by a Russian billionaire and tipped to spend big upon earning promotion to the French top flight.

A £50million deal had supposedly been agreed, though Atletico Madrid have now moved to laugh off the rumours.

“Now Falcao’s going to Monaco? We are going to go around the whole world!” said Cerezo.

Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri also dismissed the rumours, and likened it to speculation that the club would sign David Beckham.

“Falcao will join Monaco? Oh yes, just like Beckham. I like rumours too. When he will come I will tell you.” he said.

Although a move to Monaco seems unlikely, Falcao will surely not remain at Atletico Madrid beyond this season. Monaco may get their hands on one big name though, with Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard reportedly considering a move.
