West Ham line up shock swoop for Milan midfielder.
West Ham United have been in contact with AC Milan in a bid to sign veteran midfielder Massimo Ambrosini, according to talkSPORT.
The 35-year-old is out of contract next month thus bringing an end to his 18-year association with the Rossoneri and he had largely been expected to draw the curtain on his career following the end of his current deal.
However, sources in Italy claim that West Ham have been in touch over the possibility of bringing him to the Premier League as they plan ahead for next season.
The former Italian international has also attracted interest from a number of MLS clubs too, and he is reported to be intrigued by both offers in a bid to test himself after so long with one club.
Ambrosini began his career with Cesena before making the switch to Milan in 1995. Aside from one season on loan with Vicenza in 1998 he has spent his whole career at the San Siro where he has made nearly 500 appearances, scoring 36 goals.
West Ham are apparently in no rush to get an answer from the player and will wait for him to meet with club officials to discuss his future.
