Betis ace wants to go home.
Highly rated Real Betis midfielder Benat is set to snub interest from the Premier League in favour of a return home to Athletic Bilbao this summer, according to talkSPORT.
A number of top English have been keeping a close eye on him this season with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs all rumoured to be lining up a swoop for him. However, he is believed to be willing to snub that interest if it means he can return home.
His current deal expires at the end of the season and Betis had hoped to wrap up a new contract to keep him at the club but that seemed increasingly unlikely in the face of so much interest coming from the Premier League.
However, reports in Spain suggest that he is close to agreeing a move back to Athletic Bilbao, the club where he began his career.
The move will be regarded as a real coup for Bilbao who are now rebuilding after losing Javi Martinez and now Fernando Llorente in the space of a year. Bilbao are also limited in who they can actually sign because of their Basque only player policy.
Benat has made 31 appearances this season, scoring four goals.
