Striker admits he wants to join Atletico Madrid.
Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo is set to disappoint the Premier League sides hoping to clinch his signature this summer by affirming his desire to play for Atletico Madrid, according to talkSPORT.
The 27-year-old is Sevilla’s top scorer this season with 26 goals in 38 games and was said to be interesting the likes of Spurs and West Ham who are both seeking reinforcements to their front lines.
Spurs had been credited with the heaviest interests after Emmanuel Adebeyor has failed to live up to his own hype and Andre Villas-Boas is known to want to add an out-and-out goal scorer to the ranks to take some of the pressure off of Gareth Bale.
However, West Ham were also said to be looking into the possibility of bringing him to Upton Park as Andy Carroll faces an uncertain future.
With Atletico set to cash in on Radamel Falcao, they have identified Negredo as the ideal replacement and will have the funds available to lure him away from Sevilla. The 14-cap Spanish international has also reportedly told sources close to the club that he would prefer the move to Madrid instead of going to London.
Italian side Fiorentina have also been credited with an interest as they look to replace Stevan Jovetic who looks set to join Arsenal.
