Man United Boss David Moyes Ready To Broker Wayne Rooney Peace Deal

United boss keen to keep England striker at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are ready to call a truce with Wayne Rooney in a deal that will see the England star remain at Old Trafford according to The Mirror.

Rooney has been widely tipped to leave the club in recent weeks after Sir Alex Ferguson claimed the player had handed in a transfer request during his final weeks at the club.

That seemed certain to pave the way for Rooney’s exit from Old Traffford with the striker reported to have been unhappy with his role in the United team this season.

Speculation regarding Rooney’s future was rife following his absence from United’s starting eleven for the club’s crucial Champions League last sixteen tie against Real Madrid.

Rooney was reported to be fuming at his omission, sparking speculation that his Old Trafford days could be numbered.

The likes of PSG, Arsenal and Chelsea are all thought to be ready to offer Rooney an escape route from United.

But it now appears that Rooney looks set to stay at United after reports emerged that the player in fact did not hand in a transfer request.

The player’s advisers have insisted Rooney was merely highlighting his dissatisfaction with how he was being played but has no intention of quitting the Premier League Champions.

Rooney has two years remaining on his current £250,000 a week deal so much may depend on whether player and club can agree terms on a new contract.
