Corchia could be set from France stay.
French giants Lyon have reportedly raced ahead of Arsenal in the race for Sochaux’s highly rated right back Sebastien Corchia, according to talkSPORT.
Arsene Wenger has been a fan of the 22-year-old for some time, though he has had to deal with the fact that there would be some stiff competition for his signature after it emerged last month that Italian giants Roma , as well as north London rivals Spurs were both interested.
However, it now appears that Lyon could be set to stump all the competition as they look to wrap up a £4.3 million deal after sources in France suggested that coach Remi Garde met with the player who confirmed his interest in joining the former Champions League regulars.
Corchia was a key figure for Sochaux this season, helping them to avoid the relegation zone by three points and added to his impressive tally of 26 under-21 caps for the French national side in the process. This season he made 334 appearances for his club side, scoring once.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to have watched Corchia a number of times this season and is believed to have lined him up as a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has been linked with Paris St-Germain.
