Saint-Etienne Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Nears Bayer Leverkusen Switch

Gabonese striker set to disappoint Premier League chasers.

Saint Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to disappoint the series of Premier League sides interested in his signature by nearing a switch to the Bundesliga, according to talkSPORT.

The 23-year-old, who bagged 20 goals in 37 games for the French side last season, has been attracting interest from the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle but could now be set to shun their advances in favour of a move to German club Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen had shown a fleeting interest in the Gabonese international earlier in the season but are now said to be keen again as they prepare to lose Andre Schurrle to Chelsea.

Aubameyang’s agent, Oscar Damiani, confirmed Leverkusen’s interest by telling German newspaper Bild: “Leverkusen are back in the race. PSG is an option and we are waiting for a concrete offer.”

The former AC Milan trainee has been with Les Verts since 2010 and has gone on to score 39 goals in 89 appearances. This season he was a key figure in the club’s push to secure Champions League football for the club, but sadly they just missed out by finishing in fifth place, meaning that they will spend another year in the Europa League instead.
