Arsenal have been confirmed to be parting company with Brazilian midfielder Denilson, the player’s agent Alexandre Soares has told Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons out on loan with former club Sao Paulo, and is likely to make a permanent move to the Brazilian side on a free transfer this summer after ending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Soares also talked up potential interest from clubs in Italy and Germany, for the player who was once considered one of the most exciting young players at Arsenal.

“I can confirm Denilson and Arsenal have agreed to terminate his contract at the end of this month,” he said.

“Denilson is free to move to another club and a number of clubs are interested in him.

“I do not want to name teams, but there is interest from Brazil as well as Russia, Italy, Germany and Turkey and I am talking to them.

“If Denilson does stay in Brazil, Sao Paulo has the priority, but I do not rule out him moving to another Brazilian club as well.”

The midfielder, who signed for the club as a 17-year-old, made an immediate impact on the first-team at Arsenal, impressing in the club’s run to the Carling Cup final that year, but was unable to maintain that promising early form.

Denilson made over 150 appearances for the Arsenal first-team, but was a squad player for much of his final season with the club in 2010/11.
