Returning Chelsea boss not planning big spending spree.
Jose Mourinho will target just one major signing in this summer’s transfer window when he returns to take charge at Chelsea, the Daily Express claims.
The Portuguese coach looks close to completing a move to Stamford Bridge after it was confirmed that he would be leaving Real Madrid at the end of the Spanish league season.
The 50-year-old, who had a successful first spell at the club between 2004 and 2007, has been linked with a number of big transfer targets this summer, though it has now emerged that he will only be aiming to bring in one player.
That player is said to be Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic, who will cost around £25million and is a target for both Arsenal and Juventus, as the returning Blues boss will likely seek to replace the off-form Fernando Torres.
However, he will not, as expected, target Napoli’s Edinson Cavani to replace the Spaniard, as it seems Roman Abramovich is unwilling to pay the Italian club’s asking price of £54million, making it likely that the Uruguayan star will now join Manchester City instead.
If Mourinho misses out on Jovetic, it is thought that he will target Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz, whose fine form this season has put him on the radar of a number of top European teams.
The signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle for £30million has reportedly already been completed, though it has yet to be confirmed by either club.
